Sorry To Let You Go

My hometown is a small town with just under 20,000 inhabitants and the usual challenges for such towns. In particular, the dismantling of all industrial facilities after 1990, the ongoing exodus of young people and the demographic change that goes hand in hand with this.
In spring 2019, I was struck by the large number of gaps in the urban fabric as a symbol of this development. However, I wanted to document not only what was missing, but also its subsequent use.
The result was a small series of 32 photographs taken in an area of only about one square kilometer.
